Whatever happen to giving them your old Camry or Civic.
These kids are spoiled! |
Who has a Camry or civic to give them? |
The frugal parents have then like they are pocket lint. They just reach in and pull one out. |
I was looking into a used car for my kid (college student who needs transportation to a year-long internship next year), and it was pretty discouraging. Then I realized the perfect used car was in our driveway all along. The real prize is the friendship you make with the new car you buy along the way, or whatever the saying is. |
NP here. This is our EXACT list when our oldest gets her license! |
Stupid comment - feel free to spoil your kids and see how that works out. |

The winner has been named many times over. Go get a Mazda3 already. I'd buy this car over and over again. I might buy mine back as I sold a perfectly great car for $1200. It had a little over 100k on it.
$10k for used car. Invest the other $10k in ethereum and good to go. |
Wow, what a hilarious zinger!

Who cares about the cool car? The kids in my school that drove the “cool cars” growing up were majority underperforming in school (but the jock), popular, and yes, had “rich” parents. But didn’t go far after high school.
It is shocking to me that a cool car is tour concern. I don’t care how much money I have when my kid is driving age, they’re getting a used Honda or Toyota, period, if I’m even gifting them one. |
The point being, which you obviously missed, is that compared to all generations past, the things we do for our kids that we consider to be normal, would be considered as "spoiling our kids". The issue is not the resources that we provide to our kids, but what we teach our kids in terms of how to care for and utilize those resources. Artificially restricting or boosting the things we give to our kids is a poor substitute for good parenting. |
I guess what you experience in your life is a universal truth for everyone else. I guess we can all stop living and just listen to you to tell us how things are going to turn out for the rest of us. My Gawd, what an awesome power you have! Do you publish a newsletter or something? I'd love to subscribe. |

Camaro convertible for Boys wrangler convertible for girls.

Go for manual transmission for cool factor. |
They are so hard to find now and can be more expensive because it's a niche option. I bought a manual two years ago, and the choices were really limited. |
