We get it, BASIS DC admins consider learning beyond the building to be a waste of time.

No comment on the Basis methodology being right or wrong but not it’s not easy for DCPS to do field trips. We don’t have a school bus system. Children under a certain age have to be in car seats. Yes, they can take the city bus etc but logistics are not as simple as one would think.

In non-pandemic times, Basis does do a two-night NatureBridge trip for 5th graders.
