It doesn’t take a Genius to understand that if you want to play at a slower pace driving up scores that your developments not going to be as strong as if you were going up against like talent or higher making you think faster, play faster thus developing into the player that won’t just sit the bench but possibly developing you into a stronger player helping that athlete in college. Oh you're right...Jeff Cup doesn't track wins or losses. Nor does it award points on a 1-10 point system for each game played. Nor does it rank the teams by flight and how they finish in each flight. Everyone gets trophies and ice cream after the games.

I thought the point of a showcase was to play in front of college coaches. Did any of the coaches in attendance ask the parents what the score was? Did any college coaches attend the medal ceremony?

So they were trying to lose in front of the college coaches?

There weren’t any college coaches there. That was a big farce at this years Jeff cup.

Right and SUSA and CT each played 2 of the bottom 3 that did not belong in the top bracket.

It s showcase format. The top teams did not even play some of the more competitive teams in the group at all and they try to not have teams play that would face off in league play.

Players from those top teams were actually wishing they had been placed against some of the more competitive teams but it is what it is.

This post is very intriguing. So you want Bobby and Christian to spend more time preparing your kid for college soccer? More time than what? 4 practices a week? League games, scrimmages, showcases? What MORE can they do? Your kid is getting exposure to college coaches of all levels, national team scouts and guidance on the college recruiting process. I’ve seen highlight videos of uncommitted 2022s posted. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make her drink. The opportunities are there for your kid and her teammates. At some point, it’s your KID’S responsibility to succeed at the next level, not her club coach’s. As a Loudoun Soccer parent I will say FCV can boast away, I love seeing the college commits being announced day in and day out. I stopped counting after over 25 class of 2021s had committed to play at the next level. Seriously, what more do you want? What’s the problem?
