Happens all the time. The some teams you will play twice in the same tournament and encounter a whole new team. Guest players are the norm for small clubs and lower level teams.

Actually this happens more during ecnl-regional games then tournaments.

Your team is short players? Just pulled down a few ecnl players who aren't getting as many minutes. May as well win 8-0 while you're at it.

BSC did this to beat DD’s undefeated U9 team a couple of years ago. Our girls were crushed over the loss (and wondering why they recognized almost none of the BSC players despite beating them earlier in the season). It helped me (a soccer newbie) understand exactly what kind of club they are.
