if your parents/in-laws are near-by, how often do they bring you home cooked meals?

Parents live 15 minutes away. We go over for dinner about every other week and they like to drop food over 1x a week.

My MIL used to do this to my SIL before I was married and thankfully we moved away after our wedding. It was really disrespectful because all she would get mostly were BIL's favorite dishes as if SIL couldn't cook. It was all in the garb of 'helping' them, but my MIL thrives on attention and totally ignored that BIL & SIL were trying to eat healthier. It irked my SIL so much. In the long run, it hurt MIL because it ( along with 1000 other things) spoiled her very cordial relationship with SIL.

1-2x a week. It gives my MIL something to do and we are overworked as it is with work, DL, etc. It's sweet! I'd be happy to do the same when they grow older.

Never, not once even when we lived 7 minutes away and I was drowning with a newborn and PPA. Not my parents nor ILs.

Never. My mom brings baking once in a while.

Never. Pre-covid I had my parents over for dinner weekly and I send them home with leftovers for lunch the next day.

Um never. I would love if someone who cooked well gave me dinner once a week.

My parents are more likely to bring fresh produce from farm stands or treats for my son. If she make a batch of something, she may freeze some for us too. They live 15 minutes away so we also got there for dinner at least once a week.

Not once ever in my life, wouldn’t even occur to me. On the other hand, my brother recently moved to Arlington with his amazing Thai chef wife, and she drops off meals for me about once a week. They drop to me first and then my dad (they live with my mom). Absolute game changer! I try to feed them here about once a week as well. But the meal drop offs are incredible surprises.

Then, they say thanks, trash the food and call it a day.

Same here except it’s my parents. They are retired and bored since they can’t travel due to COVID, and my mom loves to cook and bake.
