I was frequently the subject of a well-known blogger's posts.
Then blogger got a book deal and the lies and omissions continued. |
| Quitting social media and limiting DCUM has been my C19 hobby. No regrets, don't miss a thing. |

I never had an IG account. I've been on FB for well over a decade, and more recently have used Twitter but pretty sparingly (it is often used in my professional field for updates which I find helpful).
In 2016, for whatever reason, I could not stomach DCUM anymore and took a really long hiatus. Just started coming back this year, ironically, after getting off FB. I regret it...but now am having a hard time staying away. For FB--I had a couple of mildly unpleasant interactions with a friend--not a close friend, but someone I know IRL, which prompted me to take a month away. I had already found it annoying how often I've had to scroll through group/news-related posts rather than seeing the posts I like (I have a large, extended family and we have used FB to stay in contact). I've had a really, really rough year personally, and I realized that I need to connect with people in a more "real" way and it just seemed crappy and defeating to look at people's posts or to do the vaguebooking "I'm really struggling...." kind of thing. I haven't deleted my account but I take a look maybe once a week rather than every day. |
