I appreciate your analogy, but you have to give it more context. In other words, would I just offer my child a bowl of 100 raisins where one of the them was poisoned to see if my kids could beat the odds? No. Would I offer my child a bowl of 100 raisins where one of them was poisoned if my child's blood sugar was bottoming out and just a single raisin would save their life? Yes.

No they haven’t. This is still a disease of old people and preexisting conditions when you look at actually reporting.
