My kid was invited to a couple grad parties. Declining them. Got some invites from people who are acquaintances at best, which tells me they are inviting a lot of people. |
Declined reipeated invites from two families doe socially distant play dates. Kids are 3-5. Have not received invites to a party but we've basically been signaling that we are not going anywhere any time soon.
DC is doing well relative to other US states but that should not be our comparator pool! |
We're sending our kids to summer camps, so not sweating the July 4th outdoor neighborhood party in comparison where only some people wore masks. Probably 20-30 people total. I don't really claim we're social distancing when young kids don't have much understanding of staying 6 ft away from the next kid. Still barely going to the grocery store (went for the 1st time since April last week) though.
We have neighbors we've definitely see having grad parties or "prom" at home, but still claim they're bringing their kids' girlfriend's family and boyfriend's family into their "bubble" so they're still "social distancing." Lots of neighborhood posts seeking to group 3-5 families for distance learning days and rotate houses. So, it's important to ask another family what they mean by "social distancing" or how many people are in their "bubble." |
We are going to a couple big parties soon, outdoors at a park. We don't plan to stay long.
For 8 weeks we have done frequent small gatherings under 10 people outside. |
Invited but declined. |
Invited to two parties in March - after our family was distancing but before it was imposed - that we declined. Last day of school my daughter’s classmate’s family hired an ice cream truck and I took her. They said we’d be all spread out in the front yard. But I got there and it was too crowded. None of the adults are or removed masks but the kids were too close together and I had no idea whether other families had been socializing so it made me uncomfortable. |
Pp that should say “ate” |
We hosted a small party back in May with 3 other kids for my DD 7th. They were neighborhood kids we were already doing playdates with. |
we went to a small party on the 4th. There were 7 of us. |
