Similar to lack of trust issues above.
Shady Grove posted a Covid q and a on their website a few days ago from Dr. Eric Widra that is evasive and misleading. He does state there are many unknowns about the course of pregnancies and Covid, but he also says the data is so far "reassuring." That isn't true. https://www.propublica.org/article/agonizing-lag-in-coronavirus-research-puts-pregnant-women-and-babies-at-risk Why do things like this? They are medical professionals who should take their ethical obligations seriously even if their clinic is for-profit and they're worried about lower volume of new patients. It's just gross on every level. |
| PP, What's your point? You want the whole country to shut down and not allow anyone to get pregnant? I'm glad my clinic started treating patients again, I'm 40 years old and can't put treatment off and risk losing the few good eggs I have left!!! |
Lol did you even read the article? It says that the US information collection is very poor but information from other countries suggests that mothers of color are more at risk. It also recommends strict social distancing during the third trimester. Also, “ The general trend has been somewhat reassuring: COVID-19 can make pregnant women very sick, but many seem to remain asymptomatic or become only mildly ill. ” So basically we don’t have good data; some populations are clearly more at risk; take precautions; but it’s relatively reassuring. |

PP, obviously the PP that linked that article doesn't know how to read.
My clinic is open with no plan to shut down and I'm so grateful!! |
I don't think you actually understood what the PP, who linked the Probuclica article, said. I too am grateful that my clinic is now open. That said, the Shady Grove blog by Dr. Widra is indeed misleading. It makes it seem like there are no risks to the fetus or newborn, and we now know of many cases where that is untrue. Plus CDC now lists pregnant women on the high risk list. Clinics need to let their clients know the risks. Two clinics i know of are now making clients sign covid liability paperwork. |
No! Truly? |
| I’ve just started - my first time dealing with fertility clinics so I’m not sure how helpful I’d be, but I had a teleconsult with Dr. Malik (sp?) and have gone in a few times for lab work and an HSG. Both facilities I’ve visited (Arlington and Fairfax) were extremely conscientious about Covid and I found the staff to be really friendly and lovely. So, though I’m generally not knowledgeable, I can say that they’re doing a good job with Corona. |
| Hi! Have you tried looking at www.ivfoptions.com? They publish prices and success rates so you can do a comparison between fertility clinics before you can choose. |
Dr Dimattina had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever encountered |
