Theodora/Theodosia

Theodosia reminds me of Aaron Burr, so I would probably go with Theodora

Teddy for a girl is terrible.

We know a Theia who is super adorable and I think it's a great name.

Or you can come at it from a different angle and give her a name that means or alludes to "bear" and still use Teddy as a nickname. Options: Bernadine/Bernadette, Artis, Ursula, Winnie?

This is a good idea! There are so many great T names:

Teresa
Tatiana
Thea
Tabitha

Bear is more of a stretch, but there are other names that are conducive to the the Teddy sound. (Though, I like the T names better)

Dorothy
Athena
Bernadette

Love Tabitha

Also Dorothy, nn Dot

People will definitely think you are a Hamilton superfan if you go with Theodosia.

I like both names. Theodosia does make me think of Hamilton, since that was the name of Burr's daughter. I actually considered Theodora when my kid was born.

You could just name her after a character on Game of Thrones, or is that just too last year?

As a former teacher, please choose Theodora. Easily spelled, pronounced, and remembered. If she’s outgoing and independent, she will like a Teddy. If she prefers to blend in, Thea and Dora are both very feminine. Choosing a name with lots of nickname potential will give her room to be herself—always a good thing.

Not my style, but with Theodora you could choose a nickname Teddy or Dora.

PP again. Results of a nickname Thea which I actually like better than Teddy.

Wow. I’m also a former teacher and I think it’s a ridiculous to name your child something that appeases future teachers.
