Day trips and open bathrooms

Road trips, yes. Consider using adult diapers, or TravelJohn urinals for campers. You can pee discreetly in those in the car. Peeing outside is a trashy thing to do but better than burst bladder.
Those fishing families probably should use plastic bags/other containers if they are there for the whole day, and they probably do. I can't imagine a whole family peeing in the woods all day long.

The problem is some parks don't have their restrooms open. I checked the Md parks page and there is no list of which parks have open restrooms. I assume the state parks do, though, but who knows?

Thank you, I was hoping for some feedback from people who have been out to parks. It's impossible to find out from these website whether facilities are open. I'm the OP. I'm not in a panic about using a public restroom. In fact, I prefer it for my boys because they will otherwise piss on every tree if given the choice.

I was just at a state park (deep creek lake). and bathrooms were open. But we took our bjorn potty with us for the trip since we didn’t know the status of fast food/gas station bathrooms.

It should go without saying, but adult diapers is pretty much a staple of every normal household.

you can get them from amazon with 2 hr shipping, lol. I mean adult diapers. Then the whole family can enjoy a day in the park without worrying about public restrooms. Just make sure you don't wear skinny jeans.
