If you’re not traveling, what are you doing this weekend for fun?

Driveby parade in my city in a couple hours for the class of 2020. So heading outside now to decorate my senior's car.

Then we are having our dock put in on the lake we live near. Our 30 year old pontoon boat will go in next week.

Socially distanced party tonight with friends outside around a fire pit.

Yard work tomorrow after our online church service and virtual coffee hour. Then walking with friends.

Monday, grilling burgers and having a visit with MIL. Her inside her home, us out on the patio.

All legal in our area, and safe.

What general area are you in PP?

We walked to a waterfront park today and had a picnic lunch. With a 5 year old this was a half day trip. Husband is Zooming in for birthday drinks with a friend in MD because we didn't think it was right to travel out of state when our governor is saying stay home. We'll make pizza and a pork shoulder in the next couple days, watch the Memorial Day concert online tomorrow, and maybe do another long walk and picnic because it was very nice.

What’s up with mentioning the age of your boat?

Because she got teamed in another thread she started recently about how much fun her family was going to have this summer, despite everything

You are right, it is me.

Yes posters accused me of being a privileged elite because I mentioned a boat, and somehow they read yacht instead.

We are now in the Midwest in a lakes area, where even regular middle class folks making 80 grand combined have cottages in more rural parts of the state and boats and docks and such.

Going to a backyard get together on Monday. The hosts are making individual food boxes for each person, all canned or bottled drinks, have 3 tables spaced apart widely, and will have face shields for everyone.
I was not going to go but decided we'll stop by for a couple hours.

Hanging around the apartment today with DD age 6. She JUST started reading for pleasure and cannot stop! So cute! We painted on mini canvases on our patio, and played in the bath tub together. She usually has ballet in Saturday’s but not this weekend because of the holiday. We may go bike shopping tomorrow for her! (Grandma gift.)

Lots of outdoor time. Lots of state parks have opened up with good trails for little kids. That plus a BBQ. Looking forward to it all.

And such good timing!

Lots of walks, some bike riding. Hanging out on the deck, grilling out, some movies, reading, chatting with neighbors from a reasonable distance.

Yesterday we went to a state park with a small beach. DH opted out but made us tacos when we got home. Today cleaning and laundry. Tomorrow we might try out another state park with a lake.

I am working all weekend. Spouse did yardwork yesterday and stuff around the house, including playing games with DD 7. When I got home at 515 we took the dogs for a walk while DD rode bike. Then we had dinner on the deck and watched a bird have a bath in our new bird bath.

Today they are going to Inlaws 15 mins away to sit outside and celebrate FIL bday. We made a homemade gift and cards during the week. When I get home we will do the same as yesterday.

Tonight we are going to hang out with MIL, 91, and bring her a picnic. She will have it inside, and we will be outside on the patio and we will chat through the sliding glass doors

My daughter went out of town with her dad. So for four days straight, I basically did whatever the hell I wanted, when I wanted. I ordered a ton of food from the place she doesn't like and ate it for 3 dinners straight. I hiked every day. I slept late and then sat in bed reading until the cat made me get up to feed her. I rewatched Dexter, 'cause it's inappropriate for kids. I listened to a bunch of musician friends do concerts online. I drank a bit more wine than I should have, and read the paper and sat outside every chance I got.

On the one hand, it was glorious. On the other hand, I didn't have an in-person conversation with anyone for four days straight and that was really weird.
