Our daycare is closed for the foreseeable future. We paid full tuition through last week, we are now paying reduced tuition ($600) monthly. All the teachers have been furloughed, but with their health insurance covered through May. |
You dont have to pay back a PPP loan as long as you don't lay off staff, and it also covers rent. That's the point. |
Ours is still paying all teachers. We have 4 options:
- Essential workers can send their children in for free, per state regulation. - You can pay no tuition and save your spot at least for May, but you won’t get access to distance learning. - You can pay $500 for some distance learning. - You can pay $1000 for enhanced distance learning, to include 1 on 1 time with the teacher and your kid, virtual field trips, etc. - If you pay full tuition ($1600-2000/month depending on the age of the kid) you’ll get no tuition increase next year and 25% off September. We are essential workers, so we are taking option 1. I like the menu of options though. They said this is the plan for May, and they will re-evaluate in June. |
Interesting there are two tiers of zoom options. Mine does 1 hour daily for discounted tuition. |
Mine sent a useless email they are monitoring the reopening criteria and will open when they are met. The reason it’s useless is because there is no set reopening criteria that has been set the governor yet for daycares/preschools. |
Mine in VA sent an email saying they are "now also open for non-essential personnel," with no further info about safety measures, group sizes, etc. Um, what?! I am not very happy about this. Does this mean I have to send my kids back, or I'm defrauding my workplace (which is allowing unusual schedule flexibilities for people without child care)? My spouse feels very strongly that it isn't safe yet, I'm a non-essential office worker, so I don't really like being put in this position. |
Mine haven’t sent anything since they closed
It’s so weird because you’d think they’d check in on the kids |
Ours is opening up to essential workers only, no one else has to pay tuition. They will continue to do our Zooms. |
This is not true. Our preschool was told that if they open, they will be required to take in the children of essential employees. |
