For those who "don't cook"

Anonymous
We have a few main meals around here:

Roast chicken with garlic and lemon
Fresh fish on grill or in pan with lemon, garlic or a mixture of spices. Perhaps with some sliced avocado or tomato or similar type topping
Fresh meat (red occasionally), with simple marinade and grilled usually
Chicken marinated with sauces from Williams and Sonoma and grilled/baked (I usually brown on stove top first)
Pork with a mustard sauce (french)

EASY-- and the kids all of the above. For fish, try salmon with a bit of honey on it for the kids.

Veggies: A big spinach or mixed lettuce salad, walnuts, some goat cheese and strawberries is a common one

Steamed greens: broccoli, edamame, peas,
Carrots/red peppers for grown ups
sometimes I saute some spinach for under the fish or meat (just do with a bit of garlic, olive oil and lemon or salt and wine)

Steamed or baked sweet potatoes (Cayenne and honey on them-- yummy!)

Brown rice or other "healthy" grain

Skim milk and red wine for grown ups

Pretty much our every night meal

We do take out about 2x a week (Thai/Indian,etc) which is NOT cost effective. . .
