Um

I always wish we could hear from the spouses in these threads.

I'll bite - male here. I had known my now wife for close to three years before we got together and we were pretty good friends. She was very sweet and nice but very prim and proper and conservatively dressed. Over time the sweetness and niceness outweighed the prim and proper so I began to take notice of her. One day she said her washer was broken so I invited her to my place that evening so she could do her laundry and some flirting began but nothing more than that. Then that Saturday I helped her stain her LR floor and I invited her over to my place for dinner because her place would smell for hours. So she came over for dinner and surprised me by bringing an overnight bag and spending the night. So, she definitely was not as prim and proper as I thought and under her conservative clothes there was a very nice body. It was a very easy, no drama relationship and it's the same way 26 years later. Being good friends really helped make it easy.

We started dating at 19 and immediately just fell into an effortless partnership. Our first date he kept stuttering and stumbling on his words which was hilarious because he was voted biggest jock in high school and at the time was in a dual architecture/engineering program. So he was the strong, athletic, smart guy fumbling into a sweet nervous boy. On that first date he took me hiking and packed a picnic we ate on a cliff at sunset. Shortly after we spent 3 months backpacking around the world. I adored his family (still do to this day), he made a genuine effort to connect with my family and friends. 14 years later, a house, a dog, and a kid we are still those bright eyed kids taking on the world together.

I appreciate your contribution, but your situation sounds completely different from the pp.
