what were you most glad about leaving behind when you left your last job?

Coworkers who loved to hear themselves talk but were incapable of listening. Self-promoting douchebags. Sexist men who were incapable of doing any work but took all the credit. And the idiots who ran the place.

I liked my boss as a person and respected her professionally, but I did not trust her at all (for good reason/previous experience) and that was very difficult for me. She also was kind of a head cheerleader type with her in-crowd of favorites and I had been in the circle of trust, out of it, then back in. I was happy to leave all of that behind.

We had quotas that I hated and that in many ways were antithetical to doing the job WELL...it was quantity but there was still demand for quality. I couldn't do both.

There was always a real fear of being canned any minute. It's pervasive in that particular industry and even though I changed careers I still deeply harbor that fear. Not sure if I will ever shake it. It's only been a year or so, so maybe with time.
