For all the work the show claims to put into the selections and the after-counseling, do you think they have any better statistics than a blind date? It seems that the vast majority select divorce as an option. You would think that this process weeds out those that have a fear of commitment or just don't want to get married, but then how would you explain Matt Gwynne?

The “process” is questionable as Jessica and Mindy are the only ones who applied for this show. Neither Brandon nor Taylor were originally selected, as both bride and groom backed out before filming, and these two as well as the other couples, were recruited and chosen due to their willingness to participate. Anything less than a perfect time or union, these couples are outta there!

I know half of this couple. While they are not allowed to confirm/deny the status of their relationship until the season ends due to contractual reasons, I have it on good authority that they remain together.

Thoughts: I actually think this year's pairings are better than last. But the one who has a boyfriend she's pining over shouldn't be allowed to be getting married. I know it's good TV but not at all fair to the guy. Also she's 25! Way too young. And, the scientist getting her PhD married to the beer salesman seems like a bad idea.

There aren't the same options among black men as there are in other races, so if a black woman wants to marry a black man she may have to be with someone who doesn't have the same educational or other accomplishments.
