Wanting to pull DS from pre school due to germs.

My 2 year old had to leave school bc she had a rare reaction to a virus. She was sick every week before and I suspect her immune system was overloaded. Plus the school was much more crowded than when her elder sibling went there. I wasn’t happy about how sick she was, since she was perfectly healthy before. I do think there’s a lot about immune system development at that age we don’t understand.

In any case, should get better around 5-6. But if you plan on any outings whatsoever with a nanny there is going to be a fair amount of germs.

Yep, or just some babies are sickly. My DD was sick all the time her first year in daycare. She got the stomach flu twice and both times ended up in the hospital. She had at least one cold a month, lots of fevers, several ear infections, pink eye twice... it was such a rough year! I was worried about immune system disorders, because the other kids in her daycare were not sick like that.

She’s now 3.5 and she’s been sick enough to keep her home 3 times in the last year and a half, and even then she wasn’t that sick.
