Also, I think working parents love summer more than SAH parents.

Either way, someone else is raising their kids most of the day. They don't really care.

Exactly. What is the difference if you do t see them until 6pm each day?

Got it. So only people who can afford to have some one stay at home should have kids. All those people who need to have two working parents should just for go kids.

I will make sure to pass that info on to my son.

Oh please. Camps cost hundreds a week and DCUMer's want to live in McMansions at minimum. It is a choice in this area for the most part and you know it. Most parents don't want to parent or take care of their home anymore and that is just the way it is. Nannies, babysitters, summer camps, landscapers, housecleaners, auto detail, dry cleaners, tutors, private lessons, dog walkers, etc... Outsource it all and keep working "because you have to."

Responding only to the bolded, this is a much bigger part of our society than just the decision to have a SAHP or two WOHPs. Our productivity obsessed society mostly gets it's work done by delegating the least respected work to other people (for a positive account of this, see Lauren Vanderkam's I Know How She Does It, for a negative see Melissa Gregg's Counterproductive). Maintenance and care - in a broad sense - aren't highly regarded work.

I prefer summer, camp lasts longer . They come home tired and no homework.
