The Obama's Hyde Park home is 1/4th the cost of his D.C. home as well. Same size, same features.

Chicago is a major city with big businesses and lots of wealth. Chicago is bigger (and in some ways better.) So what’s the big difference? Government? But it’s not like government employees are the ones carrying the $3 million mortgages. The DC market seems inflated.
