| Kavanaugh is corrupt? Color me shocked. |
Fortunately she will have at least a $250,000 signing bonus from a firm that hires her post-clerkship. |
She may need to start making her own way in life. Her dad is under investigation and her mom was accused of “grooming” women to be picked by Kavanaugh. |
Not sorry, thank god their fascism failed! |
Amen. |
Sooo there's a reason his name wasn't on the original shortlist. You care for the Supreme Court as much as the president does. |

Actually "I Like Beer" is proving to be much more palatable than his school fellow Gorsuch, who by all accounts is delighting in turning things to the right and acting all cocky and entitled. I absolutely despised "I Like Beer's" ridiculous and pitiable performance that day at his hearing, make no mistake. You could accuse him of purposefully treading lightly for a bit, making a point to hire all women clerks, acting like the good guy, staying as neutral as he can, in order to do away with his would-be-rapist image... but I actually think it's very much his own character. He's not Supreme Court material, but now he's in place, he's by far not the worst person there!!! And don't complain about Amy Chua. She helps women with the practicalities of not closing doors for themselves in the name of feminism. Her daughters are extremely accomplished, and they are successful in their own right. |
You mean helped her daughter get the job that every law student dreams of - but most have to get on their own merit, not with their tiger mom writing a sweet op-ed as a cover letter |
Look, as an Ivy law school grad with plenty of friends with top appellate and a few Supreme Court clerkships, I can tell you with 100000%%% certainty that there are MANY extremely qualified grads who could have taken her place, in an instant. She got it due to connections. |
Oh, I have no doubt she'll make oodles of money and have a big office. She just won't get the cultural and intellectual standing that people like her crave. No top law school will come close to touching her if she goes on the law prof market, for example. Mommy and daddy's influence does not extend that far. |
Gorsuch is insufferable, true. Are there any Kav opinions or arguments so far that you think show his independence? |
I'm aware Amy and her husband influenc their daughters' careers as much as they can - and so would you if you had that clout! My point is that her daughters are highly intelligent and accomplished, and that they might not even have needed the boost. It's not as if Amy's daughter was incompetent. I'm sure she will do well in her post. |
way to miss the point |
Your credential doesn't give you authority on how many qualified female grads were applying for the Fall term of 2019 and also interested in working for Kavanaugh. You don't know and are imagining things. |
