| Nothing sucks more than being underdressed. |
+1 I would prefer to be overdressed and wearing tasteful makeup. |

Underdressed. I don't look good dressed up, so at least if I were under-dressed I could be comfortable.
The last time I wore a dress was about 8 years ago for a wedding, and I had to wear a camisole under the dress because the neckline was too low. The dress was some awful material as was the camisole - I was in Mexico and sweating BUCKETS because of the material not breathing. It was sort of like this, but different (brighter, more summery) colors: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/i.n.c.-plus-size-striped-faux-wrap-dress-created-for-macys?ID=8040568&CategoryID=37038#fn=SIZE%3DSPECIAL_SIZE%3APlus%20Sizes%26sp%3D1%26spc%3D291%26ruleId%3D78%26kws%3Dwrap%20dress%26searchPass%3DexactMultiMatch%26slotId%3D4 |
| If I cared about what other people thought, I would go out in public looking a mess, like they do. |
I think being uncomfortable sucks more. |
I'm a white woman and agree that it's a white woman thing. I used to worry about how people perceived my maintenance level, but thankfully no longer care. I'd rather be overdressed, personally, but I'm also not rich.
