I make 3x what my husband does. I also do most of the childcare and household duties. It’s very stressful. Luckily my mom lives nearby and can help out occasionally. When I start to get resentful about carrying all the responsibility, I remember that I am a bit of a control freak and I prefer to have the final say-so on the finances and the parenting. The income and lopsided division of labor gives me the leverage often get my way when we might not agree on the course of action. |
The new modern american woman came from humble beginnings or poverty so she knows she has to marry rich or study to be rich. |
Lol you think women wanting to marry rich is a new modern thing? |
No, it’s not. But we have similar values, manage our money well and have enough to cover all the essential things plus some non-essentials like travel, recreation, etc. |
Life is fine. We are both Feds because we share the same values. I would prefer that neither of us leave public service and work for a law firm, as that would take away from family time and make our lives less meaningful. I (the wife) could just as easily make more money as my husband could. |
THis makes no sense. All you saying all "modern women" came from poverty? |
