WTF? I was answering the poster who said Miami U is now "impossible to get into." I pointed out that it has about a 70% admit rate, so hardly impossible to get into. I can't for the life of me see how that amounts to "bitching about everything."

I think greek life is absolutely disgusting and should be abolished. Having said that, I know at least three very very smart people who went to Miami University (assuming it's the one in Ohio that's being discussed).

So a #3 ranking for Miami is pretty impressive as it puts Miami in company with Princeton, Dartmouth, William & Mary, Brown, Stanford, Rice, and Duke in the top 10. There are a couple of surprises/anomalies in there as well in Georgia State and University of Maryland Baltimore County.

A lot of universities focus more on graduate education and research, so a focus on undergraduate teaching is pretty rare and a plus.

Why are people on this forum so awful-- not every kid is an Ivy Leaguer-- lots of bright kids go to non-top 50 schools. Be kind-- plenty of great kids go to schools like this and succeed.
