“Baby feet” products: any good?

This is what I did to get the prettiest feet of my adult life -
1) Remove all nail polish, cut toe nails straight so that the areas around the nails also get a chance to come in contact with the gel. .

2)Soak feet in warm water, epsom salt and some shampoo for around an hour, Gently slough off dead skin with a wash cloth or mild pumice. Rinse feet

3) Wear the baby foot peel booties and wriggle your toes around so that the product gets in all the nooks and crannies. I use my fingers to gently squish the booties around for maximum coverage. Wear cotton socks over the booties (wore DH's largish cotton socks) so that you can carefully move around or lie down in your bed etc.

4) Keep the booties on for 2 hours, instead of 1 hour as recommended. Rinse and pat dry.
*****(My hack - I did not rinse my feet after the 2 hours, instead I squeezed as much gel I could from my feet and the booties and rubbed it on my arms knees, elbows, legs to get rid of my dry skin and especially my keratosis pilaris. I rubbed the gel in till it dried on my skin. I waited for 15 minutes and then washed everything off. . I would say that there was a significant improvement on my KP and the roughness on my elbows and knees. My palms also shed some because I handled the alpha hydroxy gel. I did use moisturizer on my legs, arms, hand, elbows and knees after washing)*****

5) DO NOT USE ANY LOTION on the foot until all the dead skin has shed. The moment you moisturize your feet, the alpha hydroxy acid is neutralized and the shedding is stalled.

6) Soak feet for 30 minutes daily, and once the skin starts shedding in 3-6 days, you can also use a wash cloth to gently rub away the soaked dead skin. DO NOT MOISTURIZE

7) Wear socks all the time otherwise your floor will have shedded skin as well as your bed will be very uncomfortable to sleep on. I did not wear socks to bed the first time and it felt as if my sheets were full of sand because of the amount of crumbly dead skin that shed.

8) Do not pull off peeling skin because you will pull of healthy skin and then you will get a damaged unevenly peeled feet!!

9) The top of the foot and ankle also sheds, but it sheds in bits and pieces and it might look unattractive. My solution was to soak and use a linen cloth to rub off the shedding skin on the top of the feet. I was able to finish off complete shedding in 7 days from start to finish, and only 2-3 days of active shedding. The first 3-4 days the foot felt very tight and dry and then the skin looked like finely cracked glass. It did not look unattractive until the shedding started. It is very satisfying to see all that hard skin peel off.

10) After the shedding stopped, the end result was - smooth baby soft feet. Deeply cracked heels were smoothed out almost completely. Browning nails (nail fungus?) were looking pink and clear. Mild foot fungus that resulted in lots of dead skin buildup was completely gone, Cuticle builtup and under nail built up of dead skin was gone. There was no rough and cracked skin between toes. Everything was just smooth, glowing, pretty and healthy.

11) Use an ultra moisturizing lotion or cream every night after all of the skin sheds to make sure that your feet remains moisturized and pretty.

It is better to do the peel in winter because you will want to keep your feet covered while it is shedding. If you end up needing to use the peel in summer then your option is to do daily soaks and rub off the dry skin with a linen wash cloth if possible. Also, it is not a good idea to wear pantyhose or tights while your feet are shedding.

I don't ever get pedicures in a salon because I do not like the sensation when they start scraping off your dead skin. It is an uncomfortably ticklish and weird feeling. Unfortunately, my feet were in a very bad shape and needed the babyfoot peel. With the peel, you do not have to go to a salon, you do not have to feel embarrassed about your neglected feet, and you get absolutely fool proof results.

Thanks to this thread I bought Baby Feet.

Did it about a week ago and nothing except my feet were very itchy.

Suddenly as of yesterday the "molting" has begun and whoa - it's intense!

I did not follow the soaking advice of the previous PP's so I think I will order again and follow the PP's explicit instructions.

Purchased from Amazon and everything was as it should be!

I also bought it because of this thread. Just soaked for an hour, then wore the booties for an hour. Now we wait and see!

My ankle and tops of the feet are all red and dry.

My heels look and feel INCREDIBLE.

I still have callouses on my big toes, tops of toes, and balls of my feet.

I think I’m going to do it again before summer really gets going. I am pleased with my heels. But my toes don’t look great. I’d like to soften them. Maybe I should massaged it into my toes more. I spent a lot of rubbing it on my heels!

Thanks guys, Every since pregnancy my once soft heels are just wrecked. I had been thinking about purchasing and you have sold me! Quick question - how long do the results last? Is this something I will need to do on a regular basis?

You have to maintain the results by normal cleaning and moisturizing every day in the shower. I usually do my annual peel in Winter.

No need to scrub. Just soak in water for 30 minutes every day and pat dry with towel or slightly rub it with a towel. Don't use moisturizer. Only start using heavy duty moisturizer once all the skin has shed.

I just shake off the bits of skin in my waste paper basket and launder the socks as usual.
