1. Moved from NYC, but grew up in DC before living in NYC
2. Too expensive generally, mainly COL 3. To be closer to family, and also jobs (we're lawyers and DH is a corp lawyer, so harder to be in a smaller city) 4. Schools, up to and including UVA were #1, also my urge not to return to precisely where I grew up (NW DC, close to MD 'burbs) and slightly lower taxes |

1) I was born and raised in Richmond. Life long Virginian
2). I graduated graduate school 3). Got a job in DC 4). Moved to Alexandria. Less income taxes than Maryland. DC is fun but I don’t want to live there. Living in Alexandria I can get to K street, the Hill, NW DC, the Wharf, the Navy Yard, Georgetown, etc much quicker than if I lived somewhere in Maryland. So nope. |
