+1. The spiders will eat the ants if you let them. In fact, once we had a spider in a not-obvious corner and near a hole where ants were getting onto the house, and the kids gave him/her a name and counted how many ants. Nobody in the house likes to kill spiders because they’re so hard-working, although if they’re in obvious places they’re at risk.

To answer your question OP- I used to have an aquarium that I had to downsize. Some Petcos will take bettas, just call and ask. Also you could post on a fish forum or something like nextdoor.com. The Capital Area Cichlid group is very active, maybe contact them?
