Two Rivers PK4 - Outdoor Space Concerns

Is Stuart Hobson really good? It seems like its largely under-performing. The PARCC scores are quite low.

Depends who you talk to about SH. Some UMC families in the Cluster catchment area, particularly Watkins families, swear by SH's honors classes. Most won't touch the school. Same story since the 90s.

Are the honors classes new? We are IB and it hasn't been on our radar but I am starting to think I should at least take a look. I still don't feel like its a good option, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

No not new.

Your child will not even remember where he/she went before the age of 5, so do not even think about this OP. Enroll.

SH's honors classes were started six or seven years ago. They're taught at grade level. Other classes are remedial, or specials/electives.

Math at Hobson is particularly weak, and behavior problems are, well, a problem (e.g. big fist fights outside the school every so often, cops come).

OP, it's your choice, but I must say that my DD has lotteried for and been accepted to TR every year for the past 4 years. PK3, PK4, K, and now 1st. We sort of lottery for fun, but literally, she gets in every single time. She's in private and we haven't decided to make the switch.

Why "must" you say that? You offer zero useful information to the OP--is this just a brag about your lottery luck?

Statistically, this seems like utter B.S.

I heard they are moving the middle school to the TRY location in a couple of years. I know OP is far off from middle but TRY is pretty far IMO to drive to (and in the wrong direction for any downtown or hill commute) so that is kind of deal breaker for me as far as TR is concerned. It doesn't provide a MS that our family can logistically deal with so I'm not going to consider TR4 even though we could mange the commute ther easily. Just another thing to think about.

Looks like we have a Two Rivers Troll!

The main issue is the fumes, they are toxic! School is great.
