| People used to scoff at the West Coast offense before the Niners. They have to be educated, or stick to watching those other sports if you’re looking for slam dunks. |
Not these guys again... yall have your thread... |
Your son needs to adapt to American soccer, our style of play is not, and will not be European style anytime soon. Not in your son's soccer lifetime anyway. America is spending more money than ever on soccer and actually get worse at the top levels; it will be another decade or two as our Women's team gets eclipsed and maybe, just maybe people will notice we are playing pretty much a different sport, just happens to have the same rules. |
| Japan just beat Columbia in possession soccer. It took them about 20 years to get to this level. US has long way to go... |
True but Colombia got the red card fair and square. 11 vs 10 is not the reason Japan played possession. They have been trying to pursue that style from a long time ago. You can play a good possession game or a bad one. It also depends on how your opponent performed. The same can be argued for Portugal vs Spain though I think Spain did much better than Germany. |
ASA Red team U9 could have hung with colombia today. They looked terrible, but ASA, being ASA is THAT good.
OP, agree that a 10 year old in the US should play US style soccer; the fundamentals learned in Germany will carry over just fine; laces kicking and running really fast is all he needs for next few years and pass only when trapped or someone open in the box is typical. |
