Until the piñata when my DS was so excited that he was clapping and watching his friends pick up the toys he had picked for them. Afterwards he realized he forgot to pick anything up- cue meltdown.

Oh well- the best laid plans. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

YAY!!!! So happy for you and DS! 8 is a great turnout, and if that was the only meltdown, I'd call it a win!

I am so happy for you and your kid!!!!

We have been through the piñata meltdown. I use a "fairy godmother" to throw out some extra swag/treats in a sneaky way.

We used to have parties at 9 a.m. B/c the anticipation was exhausting & draining (for me & my kid).

Congrats!!!!!!

Congrats!

One of my hard-learned lessons was to always have some pinata filling stashed away in the back. There is always a kid that grabs way more than his/her fair share, and always a kid that gets next to nothing. My past efforts to guilt trip kid-that-takes-too-much into sharing with kid-who-got-nothing have been largely unsuccessful.

Eight kids is a perfect party number. I strive for that number.
