Why do people find Beach vacations easy with toddlers?

AMEN!!!

Vacation is when DH and I leave the kids with grandparents and go somewhere just us!

My kids were 2.5 and 16 months old we had to schlep umbrellas, food , chairs, a tent, beach toys, sun protection stuff etc. then drive to the beach. Stayed out there for about 2 hours to get back home for naps and when we got home it took forever getting all of the sand off the kids off o out of the car off all of the stuff. It was exhausting. What are we doing wrong? How do you make Beach vacations work with little kids w/o all of that work?

We didn't bring that much stuff! Just a tiny tent, no chairs, kids wore sunhats and long sleeve rash guards so sunscreen was less overwhelming. Also try to stay walking distance to the beach. we also stayed on bay side so there weren't waves.

Also, two little kids at the beach is exponentially more than 1. 2 adults can take 1 toddler to the beach and still have a reasonably relaxing time.

The beach at Lewes DE is great for little kids and you can rent a beach front house or a house that is a short walk to the beach. Lewes also had great restaurants, famers market, a state park with a nature center, a few interesting small museums and, if all else fails, outlet stores.
