I think Evangelicals have shown that this is not about morality. It's about nationalism. I'm a Christian, and find this disturbing. Jesus Christ didn't each nationalism. It's basically bigotry wrapped up in Christian Nationalism.

1932 law. This won't end well for Trump.

Only if he does it as President in the Oval Office. |

| Eh. Clinton was much worse - sexual assaults as well as pay-offs - and liberals said it was just about sex and didn't matter. |
Trump has assaults, payoffs and underage sex. Plus money laundering and business fraud. Whataboutsim fail. |
Lot's of allegations, no proof of any of that after an extensive four year investigation. For Trump, we have him bragging about sexual assault, a dozen women claiming they were assaulted and Trump's attorney admitting he made a payoff to protect Trump, which could be an illegal campaign contribution. Also we have a contract that Trump claims he was not a party to, nonetheless he joined a lawsuit to enforce it. Plus we have really weird and disgusting behavior like comparing porn stars to his own daughter. The only thing liberals admitted to was infidelity. Once it was proven he was in fact unfaithful, they never defended it, they just said it wasn't illegal. You can contrast that with Trump's defenders, who give him "mulligans" for everything he does. |
| Lets be real. The "Christians" who are supporting Trump are simply pseudo Christians, with NO morals. That includes Falwell and Graham, whose fathers would be embarrassed by their sons. Hard to have any respect for the "Christian" right. |
I'm guessing the respondents answered these questions on a Likert scale where 1 = Strongly Disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree (or something similar). Reverse coding means that a 1 on that question is treated the same as a 5 on the other questions. Reverse coding is a way to measure the internal validity of a questionnaire (i.e., how consistent each respondent is being in their answers). This is pretty interesting. As a Catholic from the Northeast I just can't understand this mentality at all. It is certainly not the version of Christianity I was raised with. |
And Clinton was tried in Congress and almost impeached. So there's that. And, he didn't collude with a foreign power to win the election. So there's that too.
|
Clinton was almost impeached. Trump hasn’t colluded with anyone except voters to win the presidency. So there’s that.

Party over piety. |
Trump's team did, and Trump is still in denial about it. So, there's that.
