| Ban AR-15s, but we really do need to address the obviously mental ill. Create a database of young men who've been diagnosed with schizophrenia who've been banned from a school they previously attended. Add to that database any reported violent incidents, especially against small animals and cops being called to the home. Put him on a watchlist, much like a sex offender registry. Ban him from buying guns and ammo. Issue strictest penalties to any gun shop for selling him guns/ammo. |
| The problem is people think you either have to have tighter gun control or address the growing concern of mental illness. You need to do BOTH. But you will not hear politicians say that. Nobody needs an assault rifle to defend their home. I’m so sick of politicians and our president pretending it’s one or the other to appease their base and achieve their agendas. |
Maybe we do. Would that be better than sitting in a corner, behind a locked door...waiting? |
Because Parkland DEFINITELY knew this was going to happen. I mean that's definitely what you expect when you buy a house in that kind of town and enroll your kid in the local public. And God forbid the kid NOT have a class in AP Environmentalism or Civic Studies or whatever the hell it is. I mean those things are just so much more important than security. |
Because schools are really just holding cells for the poors' children until the help gets home. |
No. Don't let men have guns. They can go to school. |
| No. We should have moms at home and kids without wifi. |
sorry above was written on an iphone considering the incredibly small chances of this happening at any given school. |
|
Another car analogy: when I know that there's a danger of my car's brakes failing, my response is not to put a helmet on when I'm driving. My response is to get the car's brakes fixed.
The problem isn't that schools are "soft targets". Schools are "soft targets" everywhere, and nobody else has school shootings like we do. Or owns anywhere near as many guns as we do. |
Except when it's not. Such sexism is unnecessary. |
So basically besides being diagnosed with one of the worst things you can ever get (schizophrenia) these poor people will be forever marked with a scarlet X, making them fundamentally unemployable and outcasts in society. No rehab. No option for them to take meds. Nope. Schizophrenia diagnosis = registry. Why don't we just kill them instead? That would be easier for all involved.
|
People who are not allowed to buy guns are forever marked with a scarlet X, fundamentally unemployable, and outcasts in society? What society do you live in? |
Langley High School has a metal detector everyone must walk through? And an armed guard at the door? Since when? |
| Didn't Columbine have an armed guard?? |
|
And the NRA and government continue to win. Convince half of the masses that the other half is the enemy and let them waste energy fighting with each other.
We all want the same thing. Safe kids. 90% of Americans want more gun control. We know who the real enemies are. Vote them out. |
