I need a fancy new car

You think you're being clever, but our car payments as a percentage of our income is less than coffee is on yours. Who's laughing now (hint: it's us, at you )

DP. What a weird response. There are lots of rich people here. Do you think you are the only one? Based on your idiotic posts, you sound like you do. Get a clue.

OP, leasing is for posers who want to appear richer than they are. Just buy the car you want (with cash) and replace when you like. That is what actual rich people do.

(If this is real...) I highly recommend test driving. I was surprised at what I liked and what I didn't. Crossed the Audi Q7 off the list as soon as I sat in it (I'm 5'2, and I would be that not one engineer with smaller stature worked on this car - it was basically all blind spots) and the BMW X5 - actually any BMW I sat in - have to reach WAY too far back to pull the seatbelt from the wall and honestly doing this twice a day every day would give me a knot in my back.

Weird picky stuff, but never would have discovered either - which would drive me NUTS - from reading reviews or listening to other recommendation. (went with the Volvo and really like it thus far, fwiw)

We earn over 1m per year too, OP, and drive a Honda and Toyota that are each over 10 years old that we paid for in cash. Rest assured that people are laughing at you for your self-proclaimed superiority (e.g. your obnoxious earlier post to a PP about relative percentages of income). Drive whatever the hell you want to drive, but maybe spend some of your money on therapy to get an understanding of why you feel so compelled to be an asshole. It will likely be money better spent.

Since you won’t know any difference, just lease a Toyota Corolla

Make sure it is white so it matchs your bleached teeth and blonde hair

Please tell me That you are a lawyer

Don’t hang around with lawyers

I agree. They are just hideous.

Rest assured people are laughing at your cheapness.

PP, I couldn't care less if people are laughing at my "cheapness." The difference between us is that I don't buy things to impress others and don't use money as a way to make other people feel inferior. Anyone who knows us knows we aren't cheap. But keep feeling better than everyone. Hope that serves you well.

If you were a car person and love to drive, this would be different.

But if you're doing this just to impress people or because you want to celebrate your HHI, don't. Spend the cash on something YOU like, not a car.

+1

+2. You’ve never even looked at a car on the road or in a commercial and thought, “I would love to drive that.” Don’t even bother.

One of these is not like the other.

I assume you mean the XC90. Not PP but we bought the Cayenne because it was cheaper than the XC90.

I doubt you earn that much. The old cars are gone before HHI reaches 300k.

getting a fancy car is not equal to living well.

Get the most eco car you can find, get some snow tires for it, mounted on rims for convenience. Then do something good for the world. I don't get why people think driving a fancy car improves their experience of life. It sure as hell wouldn't for me.
