OMG people...where are you getting your data where you say "a good portion". I can only speak for our schools, but I can say that none of the kids in my younger DD's class is red shirted. I have another older child in 4th grade and her class has two 8 year olds and none are red-shirted.


Not PP but of my son's main group of friends (there are five in total including my Feb birthday son) three are Redshirts -- we have gone to birthday parties every year I KNOW -- one July and two August. It is kinda silly they are all on the tall and mature side and would fit fine being a younger one in their correct grade.

Which school cluster are you in? I am wondering if it's just my school where I am not seeing kids redshirted. FWIW, our school feeds into Churchill.
