I bet there are attorneys who would step in pro Bono to defend the school from these crazies

If you know or are a friend of one of these "crazies," can you suggest to them that they stop the threats of litigation, dismiss their attorney, and just apologize to the school, community, and Mr. Fuqua? If they harden their stance, then yes I imagine this will escalate with them being on the receiving end in McLean for years to come. A lot can be come by admitting a mistake. Sad way to begin summer, for all involved.

Good luck finding another principal. Anyone decent with half a brain wouldn't touch that opening with a ten foot pole. No one needs a daily headache.

Good job parents!

WJLA may get a response on the record from these parents if they sat through the meeting silently. Maybe Fuqua's take as well. You can report what you know to their Tip Line and maybe they will run a local story so we get some accurate information on this:

Don't be daft. Whatever sped up Fuqua's departure was personal or will have happened on someone else's watch. Chesterbrook is a plum assignment in one of NoVa's top pyramids (he was there a long time, the MS principal has been there almost 10 years, the HS principal has been there over 5 years, etc.).

Where is the evidence that Fuqua's departure was imminent? Even one more year would have made a big difference. Don't minimize it. The school is in a bad position.

It is actually the opposite.

The school budget of from FCPS, not McLean. There are plenty of private services that parents of special needs parents need to do as the school will only provide the absolute minimum to get them to the 25th percentile (which is considered "average"). IME, it is the schools in the less affluent areas that provide more as they know the children wil only get whatever the school provides. Those schools also tend to have more county provided resources and smaller class sizes. In affluent areas they assume (accurately IME) that the parents will pony up the difference.

I am so upset about this. ....... What is wrong with these people hiring attorneys and threatening an elementary school?
