Excellent -- congrats! I'm a college career director who wrote earlier. Internships are important after every year of college and yes, they are attainable, but the student generally has to find his/her own opportunities

Thank you so much for your advice. The internship is part time, unpaid (although it provides a small stipend) , but is exactly in DC's major/career plans. Hopefully DC will also find a part time job to earn some spending $. |
Sure, but I think orgs treat interns with kid gloves - regular employees, not so much. |
| My son got an internship with a social justice organization. He feels very strongly about the issues they address. However, having just finished his freshman year, it has nothing to do with his major. |
