The older I get, the more I realize that money is not everything. When I was younger, I thought that it was. Being married for 16 years to the love of my life and losing her to cancer, I would give away everything to have her back. While she called often me her "rock"; I dare to say that she was my "rock". Let me share what "everything" is; Career with a high six-figure income, 5-BR house in Burke, two rental houses in Hawaii, and two healthy 401Ks. Sounds as though that I would be happy as a clam, yes? Truth be told, you have no idea how lonely I am.

Go home to your SO and your kids, hug/kiss them and tell them that you love them as that is all that is truly important in this world. Be thankful for what you have, not for what you think you need...

My heart breaks reading your post.
I'm so very sorry for your loss...

I recall a famous designer for Chanel actually stated that he didn't like her face at all, that she should just keep turned around.

Ouch.

Karl L...??

She is not pretty even though People magazine said on its cover once that her beauty overshadowed Princess Kate's during the Royal Wedding.

"Pippa's Hot!!" was the endearing headline of the time.

Same here!

OP, your face could be a 10 but your personality is pulling it down to a 4.

Without that "everything", you'd be lonely AND stressed, so let's not diminish the power money has to remove stress from life. Yes money doesn't bring happiness, but the lack of it doesn't, either. It's better to be rich and miserable than poor and miserable.

99 out of 100 straight men would not turn Pippa down for a romp in the hay. Hell, she's rich and SIL to the King. I'd say 98 out of 100 guys would marry her.

She's a catch and attractive. No, she's not drop dead gorgeous. But she's prettier than 90% of the women you see walking the streets of London or NYC. There's some real slobs you see walking out in public in London or New York. The Tube riders are grim.

She's pretty much the picture of classic beauty.

Pippa Middleton??

You think she is a classic beauty?

Yep, I do, even with a bad picture like that. Post your picture OP, I'd love to see it.

Why is the only measure of a woman's worth her looks with you people? Who are you?

Because it's all the women on these fora trade on. They want to marry rich, be thin and be SAHMs. I find these boards entertaining in a way I find a train wreck entertaining. Cool to watch, but I don't want to be a part of it. There have been plenty of articles in the likes of the Washington City Paper about the sickness on these boards - the dissing of people with the wrong stroller, the poors issue, etc. Sad.

And being French, he has non-60-year-old, um, friends.

It's funny how virtually all male posters are like "Duh, of course she's attractive" while most of the nit picky comments are from women. But, of course, men are the ones accused of being superficial when it comes to looks.

Pippa is not model-gorgeous, but she is obviously attractive. I don't know what some of you are on. If she showed up at your office or your social circle, as a "civilian", you'd think she was very pretty, I'm sure.

These are classy women men will marry. Other ones are for sex only. The less desirable ones try to hard, wear booby shirts or other revealing clothes, hang out in clubs...etc. These "type" of women men want for the long term.
