| Agree and my kids go to a rival school |
| I have two daughters at Bullis and it could not be a better fit for them. They have great teachers, friends, coaches, balance, opportunity to shine, and are both so happy. |
Actually, that's not quite true. The tip-top schools (SFS, NCS/STA, maybe GDS) are at least recognizable in stature beyond the DC area and thus carry the brand name image. That alone is worth something. |

I just laugh at this post. Because the same 'crap' goes on at all the schools. I have a kid in Maryland Private school and a recent graduate of one of the big three.
The number of student BMW's at the big three school (DC) was so large that even the teachers would laugh! And yes-- social circles exist. At the DC schools the parents own the real estate, the other school- the parents run the real estate and the Maryland parents - do a little of both! All our heads are in the sand if you think that all schools are not the wealthy kids of the area and that they do not show their wealth. Drop mic. |
Have you seen Landon's campus? |
Please stop with the knee-jerk anti-semitic accusations.....I think you're far too sensitive. The PP simply said the two cultures are different with no judgement on one being better or worse than the other. And of course they're different, they draw from different communities. |

Bullies might as we be three different schools
One for the recruited athletes, the Chinese who can pay full freight and the wealthy Potomac constituently. 3 very different cultures. |
Personally, I believe all private schools are getting harder to get into because of the decline of the public school systems. |
NP. Oh my gooood. You caught some cute privileged little pre-teens talking (in a friendly manner) about cosmetics for an event and cell phone case economics. THE HORROR! People like you are worse. Much worse. Always worried about what one should and shouldn't talk about, judging little kids for stupid crap. Well let me tell you something. Girls at public schools, girls in the projects talk about crap like this too. All day long. Ad nauseum. It's just what girls do. Nice to know you're passing on your issues to your kids. |

Academics at Bullis must have improved.
I always assumed it was a 3rd tier school. Clearly my bad! OP, I'm sorry if your kid is being counseled out. I know it is hard right now but in the long run it does not mean a thing. You may want to give public school a shot. Yuor kid may end up loving it. |
The academics are not nearly at Bullis as strong as the surrounding schools. Georgetown Prep, The Heights, St Andrews, Landon are all stronger academically. So is Churchill, Whitman, and Walter Johnson. |
| The only thing I know about Bullis is that their athletes are notoriously bad sports. |

The thought of name brand image for the hilarious big 3 is just the funniest (previous post). We are the big 3... The big 3 of what? Elite White Kid Schools?
Like you are a big box store pumping out the charm. Funny! |
| Disagree.... St Andrew's does not have good academics. Struggling kids with learning disabilities all over the place!! |
