If Obama were to say anything, you would attack him. Better he leave it to Chicago.

Hello. Chicago is his hometown.

There's a significant number of people who think it's okay to be physically aggressive if they perceive someone as a Trump supporter. I've seen it on these pages multiple times.

Here's an example. On the thread about Ivanke and her kids being confronted on an airplane, multiple people made comments about throwing a pie in her face or worse.

And yet, that's just people typing. Not real physical aggression or assault.

You support it with your words, cheer it through your anger and thereby are as guilty as the actual aggressor. Shame on you. Your silence in not condoning it is acceptance.

Did you know that in many states if you throw your fist at someone, or kick at them, but don't connect, and the person stumbles backwards or sideways to avoid the blow, even if you didn't intend to hit or kick them, and they are injured falling or trying to get away, you can be charged with assault?

Who the hell thinks you can throw a pie at someone's face and it's not assault?

Just typing about throwing a pie at someone is not assault. It's not. It's just words.

These 4 kids torturing and physically assaulting this disabled boy is not just words. It's physical aggression. And it is not normal or okay or condoned by DCUM or encouraged by DCUM.

Really? For sure? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Can you cite the last hate crime prosecution where a white person was the victim?

Or do you just talk out your ass?

NP

maybe not on race - but definitely regarding his disability

What sick individuals!

The level of hate allowed against Trump on this forum is shocking to me.

I am appalled and saddened by this story. How horrible for this young man and his family. What in the world provokes people to act this way, and then film it on live stream? Who thinks like this?
I hope they are all charged with hate crimes, in addition to other crimes, and that they are convicted and punished pretty severely. I understand they are all over 18 years old, so they should be held accountable for their actions. Sadly, I fear that any punishment they may receive will be minimal, based on what I have heard about the courts in Chicago.

I'm curious as to whether any of these young men have a criminal history.

You're curious if this was their first crime, or the first time it was this bad and they got caught??

I am betting at least some of them do. And, it is not just young men. If I am correct, it is 2 men and 2 women.
Perhaps since this is getting a lot of attention, they will prosecute this crime in a serious manner and not give these 4 thugs a slap on the wrist.

Perhaps Obama will express some outrage today?

This is disgusting. It will be an absolute outrage if these men (if they can even be called that) aren't punished to the fullest extent...but I'm not particularly hopeful.

And yes, I agree the double standard is sickening. Makes me want to throw up.

PP here. I'll be shocked if this crime is their first. Regardless of anything else, their actions reflect a lack of conscience and hardening to others' pain and suffering.

Also, perhaps today is the day that pigs will fly.

Can you imagine the absolute shitstorm if it were 4 white kids torturing a disabled black kid, yelling f Obama and f white people? We would never hear the end if it. I imagine that thus will blow over in a few days and it will never be talked about it again.

Dial back your outrage and think a minute. If it was 4 white kids torturing a disabled black kid, same response. The kids would get in trouble and we'd never talk about it again.

White or black, it is tragic. The response, however, would not have been the same. If it was 4 white kids, the left would be accusing every right leaning pol of condoning the attack if they didn't immediately repudiate the attack. They would again be accused of being racists. Obama would have made a statement. It would have been in the news for weeks. There would have been a protest or another march. Somehow it would have been Trumps fault. This unfair treatment of the electorate is what motivated middle America this last election.
