How do I catch up? Is it even possible?

What did you get a degree in?

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to get your career off the ground without relevant working experience and being out of the job market.

You made some poor choices financially, I have made them too, but after realizing thr bad path I made it my priority to pay down debt, you can do it too if you set your mind to it. You mention that out of the 50,000 in CC debt 7,000 of it was on wedding. How about the other 43,000? Is it stuff you can liquidate?

OP, I work for an agency where lots of people work abroad. With all of the allowances they receive, they seriously bank the dollars when they're overseas.

This is a problem solved by hacking away over time.

+1. I left 30K in debt. I returned 3 years later with a surplus and fully maxed while overseas. It took time and a plan, but it was worth it. Its asinine to turn down free rent and they can save on childcare with OP at home for a couple of years and/or working PT.

Places with high differential make it easy to pay off debt at home. I paid off $50K in debt in my first three years of foreign service (all at differential posts), as I was not paying housing costs and was careful to manage my other expenditures. While it's a bummer not to be in Europe or someplace fancy, my family is so much better off without ugly debt hanging over our heads.

PP here. This exactly.

OP here. I'm 30. I put myself through school, lived independently in DC from age 18 and worked full-time throughout. I suffered grave emotional consequences of trauma I experienced as a child, so sometimes keeping going was a real struggle. I took many semesters off - such as times I had to work two jobs to support myself.

I didn't want to have to pay back student loans without a degree. Finishing made and makes sense to me.

There are different starting points in life. I've done and am doing my best. You guys are pricks.

Troll. OP you've posted multiple threads about your life across different forums. You have yet to heed the advice you've previously gotten.

I know, this sounds oddly familiar. I think the husband is older so they couldn't wait long to have kids.

And he has cheated, he hasn't cheated, he had an emotional affair, she thinks she's pregnant, she is pregnant, tell her she should get an abortion, she would NEVER get an abortion, she was abused by her father and he won't admit it, she got her degree and will move to Chicago and work in PR etc. So many made up stories...

I'm surprised this thread is still here since the last few times she has been caught she asks Jeff to delete the thread.

OP here with an update. My husband will be selling his car (~$300 car payment and about €150 in insurance MONTHLY) and has started a discussion with his tenants about selling them the house (they indicated an interest in doing so when they started renting). These things will help so much, and I'm so glad he's made these decisions! Happy holidays all.

Is this the same lady whose DH has the BMW or Mercedes and an ex-wife and horrible spending habits?

Do this- 1. Sell the rental and put it very thing towards the credit card debt. You will be so happy and will push on with reducing that debt until it's gone.
