Quick question - CMI playground open to public on weekends?

Whoever posted the link, THANK YOU. I found it to be a very interesting insight into history, and also a peek at how vibrant the community could be with a public golf course, playground, pond!

The Lincoln's Cottage folks (who are also on the campus and next door to the school) become enraged when they see folks trying to sneak onto the playground on the weekends. They are not a fan of the playground in general - one of their employees recently vented to me about it. The school is getting hit from all sides on this one.

IF you saw CMI parent volunteers shooing people away, and you're sure they are not Linvoln Cottage people,, I can guarantee the school told the CFA (our PTA) they had to do so in order to placate our cranky neighbors.

This, think of the AFRH like a mini-DC. You have the Cottage, which is separate from the school, which is separate from the home (which has 3 separate organizations). Yeah - that's a lot "volunteers" and rental cops milling around giving orders.

Being a parent at CMI (and I can't speak for all parents just the ones I know) we are pro open playground. But again, I'm pretty sure the DCUM view is that the Illuminati and CMI are trying to keep it closed from the rest of DC.

I posted previously and am a CMI parent. I am more sympathetic to the AFRH than to the Lincoln Cottage. I don't understand why the LC folks are so difficult. However, the AFRH represents veterans living on the property, and I very much respect their desire to protect the veterans' safety, privacy and security.
