I used to be as "blue" as it comes but now I am older...

Interesting that you equate your personal flaws to a political party. I think you need to dig a little deeper into self-reflection.

Interesting how you criticize the attack of conservative and not the repeated comments throughout the thread about how liberalism was misguided and based on some misunderstanding of economics or policy. I meant what I said.

Nope, I am getting bluer each and every year. Was raised by racists who were conservative as they come, and was super conservative in the 80s. Saw how much hate there was and getting more liberal every year.

My family generally votes Democrat, but I've grown to have more compassion as I grow older and am more blue than ever. A moral obligation.

On some issues, I have gone to the left with age: Social issues (e.g., gay marriage, immigration). On others, stayed the same (was always bordering on socialist on economic issues)..

I have gotten more arrogant on science: I *know* science should define policy, not the other way around, and this is probably my hot button issue. I can not vote vote someone who denies evolution, denies anthropogenic climate change, is anti Vax, etc....

And yet, on defense, I have moved far to the right. I

Another who is getting more blue with age. Raised by a salty, lefty atheist and I grew up rolling my eyes at his lectures, but I'm getting it now.

So I'm the poster who wrote the above.
Just to clarify, since I'm a foreigner from a country with established and popular far-right and far-left parties, the USA does not have a real left-wing party. All you people saying you've veered left to go Democrat are really just centrist.

Thanks for foreignsplaining that for us dumb Americans

I was a ridiculous libertarian when I was younger. Really, I think that's fairly forgivable, since people in their teens/early 20s are naive and can't understand the complexities of our society.

I have become more and more liberal over the years.

It's hard not to be blue when you're are college age and you hear Sanders and Clinton pitching free public college education. You see the debt you or your parents are amassing and see Blue as a way out. But as you get older you ask "that's a noble idea but who is going to pay for it? More taxes, more national debt, what will be cut to pay for it? National defense? Medicare?"

The following is a very crass comparison between a red and a blue. Reds sign the front of checks and blues sign the backs of checks.

I was a blue in my youth but now I consider myself to be fiscally conservative and socially moderate which means I don't like either Trump or Clinton! I must be purple!

Of course, this is why we should raise the voting age. Stop
The burnie burn outs. Don't let the press support then dis-support trump.

Welcome to adulthood. They next understanding is the sourse of northern liberalism

I'm solid conservative, always was. My kids are liberal but they are young and stupid. I hope they grow out of it but if they don't, they get no death money.

Opposite here. I am socially very liberal as are my adult children. I would kind of feel like a failure if my kids held truly conservative values. I think conservative Republicans are in direct opposition to the Christian values my kids were raised with.
