Bad Moms

I thought that the one with Sarah Jessica Parker years ago -maybe called I don't know how she does it was funnier.

The jokes seemed so predictable and boring to me. No one that I know cares what bake sale moms think. If they enjoy it live and let live - but I certainly have never felt compelled to do it. It bugged me that it was all about stereotyping women as these insecure basket cases who live and die by what others think or judge. We're not that stupid and insecure.

I thought it was cute, entertaining for what it was, and somewhat predictable. it would have been nice to see them think a bit outside of all the mom stereotypes, but from a humor standpoint, I definitely laughed.

All you ladies need to just "get your tits up" and go see the movie.
Kathryn Hahn made the entire movie. Yeah it was cheesy and predictable but every time she said a line I just about died. Every line.

I loved it. Theater full of women who had clearly had some wine before. Predictable and not going to win any awards but the jokes are funny, and we recognize people we know in the characters.

+1. She was effing hysterical.

"I would rather go to Afghanistan than another kids' baseball game."

Gone. I laughed so hard I snorted out loud in public. Hahn for President!

It was not a great movie, but it was fun.

The PTA does not have THAT much power, though. I mean, c'mon.

And for as crazed as Mila's mom life was, her hair and make-up sure we're on point the whole way through. Again...c'mon!!

Like how every pop culture thing eventually has the "mom version" which is about how infuriating kids are and luckily we have wine and coffee!! It's just so base. oh yeah the lame moms who want no sugar or fat or eggs at the bake sale, hilarious, let's make a movie about them!

WOW. Someone took this WAY too personally. Hit home, did it? Lemme guess. You are the Christina Applegate character? Surprise! Everyone had you pegged, long before the movie. They are just nice to your face to stay off your extremely distorted radar.

NP here. You seem to be the one taking this WAY too personally. Obviously, something (or someone) in this movie hit home for you. What a nasty post.

The rage is just a tad misplaced, isn't it?

So you are going to miss out on a fun girls night because of your anti sugar anti treats way of life?

Are you the mom who constantpy plops her ten year old son on scales and cuts him off for a week because he ate lunch on a field trip?

Who are these trolls coming out of the woodwork? PP wasn't saying that at all, you moron. She was saying, oh look, another movie making fun of those moms, it's been done before, ha ha ha. Learn how to read.

I *love* Kathryn Hahn - did not know she is in this and that alone is reason for me to go! She was great in We're the Millers, and This Is Where I leave You.

I'm the PP who didn't "get" Bad Moms. LOL so much hate. I'm actually going out for a girls night tonight. Someone at the top of this page said it better than I did: it's cheap shots that stereotype women. Like we're all just idiots who are either making the PTA our life or letting the ones who do make us feel inadequate. It's so lazy and ... lame. Sorry if you love the movie and thought it was hilarious, I just don't see the appeal, no biggie.

Oh and I am definitely NOT the whackadoo who harangues her poor son about spending $18 for lunch or eating ice cream at camp.

Clearly you don't live in the inner suburbs. Stupid and insecure (among other things) are alive and well there! The bake sale just symbolizes what the too tightly wound crowd is up to - not necessarily a bake sale - but they get worked up over some petty stuff.

Consider yourself fortunate to not know the PTA moms as that. And yes, the best way to avoid these types is to make your own posse.
