| My son's crib converted into a full bed frame. It's great for reading books and snuggling before bed. We just went on vacation and DS slept on a twin. It was so uncomfortable to get in there before bed and my DH who is 6 feet barely fit. I couldn't imagine having that be the norm now and I grew up sleeping on a twin. |

| We just converted DS's crib to a full sized bed today (he's 6). He was sleeping on a twin since age 1. I wanted him in a full because I like cuddling in there with him and the twin is too small! |
| We have queen beds for our kids. They'll be fine in college the one year most live in dorms then most kids move off campus. |
| Also when they leave a twin seems silly they will come back home with wives and we will have house guests i think if you have the space bedrooms should be queen or up bedrooms. |
I mean a wife or husband - not "wives" twin beds are awful for my family who are all 6ft plus as males and my kids are tall. |
You do know that they will still be selling beds when our kids come back home with wives? |
If you are too cheap to buy it now when it could be useful, I doubt you would buy it later for the occasional use. |
| Agree with PP that bigger is better. Some people are positively gleeful that their kids are in the crapiest bed possible. |
Yes this is true seriously people get your kids a good sized bed if you can afford it and have the space. |
It isn't glee. I'm t just seems like a ridiculous bit of luxury, and at least in a normal house, a ridiculous waste of floor space for a child. yMMV, but at least in my family, "can we afford" is only one important question when it comes to buying bigger, more resource intensive, or more expensive. We also care about leaving a smaller footprint, and raising a child with modest taste. When he is grown and not living here anymore, well convert his room to a guest room and put in an appropriate bed. |
| Mine didn't ask, we just looked at her sleeping habits and bought a full, more space for her to move around in. I had a queen bed growing up in my teenage years and then went back to a twin for college. If you can afford it and want to do it then buy a bigger bed. If you can't then don't. Would my child have been happy in a twin -- probably. |
