Everyone hates CVS! That’s like the whole point of CVS.
Their profit model isn’t predicated on any of us (customer or employee) liking anything about the process in any way. I’m convinced the whole retail store part is just a legacy that they string along because they don’t know what they would do with the empty space. It’s just there to hold the Pharmacy. They’re bleeding it dry. |

I find CVS easy to use.
Ours has a drive through, and I go at off hours to avoid the after-work and weekend lines. I’d get mail delivery if I didn’t want to wait in line. They text to ask if I want a refill and even offer to send the prescription to my provider so I don’t have the call the provider. There’s an ADHD medication shortage, and it sounds like your CVS did not want to admit they didn’t have any. That’s concerning. Does your child have to take the med every day and even on vacation?? Mine only takes it on the morning of days they need to function well yet does not need it while on vacation. |
Always check your prescriptions, people. For pills, I check the dosage take the pills out and count them. |
| prescription, not perscription, OP |

Yes. I’m Team Walgreens
I use their pharmacy and it’s my go-to drugstore. I have both Walgreens & CVS close and the CVS is sheets chaotic, cramped, slow lines and looks junky. |
My Walgreens also has a drive thru |
The Labcorp at Walgreens is generally easy to use |

I actually like ours. But I don’t live in the DC area. I have a kid with a chronic medical illness so I’m in there many times a month. The pharmacists are really nice and know me. There is rarely a line
Walgreens near me are the 6th circle of Hh3ll. You couldn’tt pay me to use them. |

I used to go to an independent pharmacy. It's not all sunshine and roses. I usually had to renew my prescription a few days before because they often didn't have my prescription in stock. Their hours were shorter. They also tried to give me the prescription of someone with a similar name one day.
I swapped to CVS so I could access my records at any store if I was traveling elsewhere in the US. |
+1. I tried an independent pharmacy and it was harder to get prescriptions. They were always out of stock with no idea when it would come back in stock. I switched back to CVS and am happy. |
| Passionately hate CVS. They opened a ton of stores, pushed out other drugstores, and now closing stores or locking everything up so shopping is impossible. Now I must wait 30 minutes in line to get a prescription. Hate them. |
| I can never find the right OTC meds there but hey, you can get auto parts, junk food, soda, housewares, etc. Giant much better pharmacy and otc place |
OP posted 7 years ago before the current shortage. |
| Hate CVS!! almost lost it on the lady once. my kid was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting and needed meds and she was going in slow motion, sloth like, seemingly intentionally, saying her shift was ending soon and I could pick it up in the morning. I almost lost it |
| I go to the one in our local Target. We are in there all of the time for kids' ADHD meds (with different refill schedules) and never had issues. Pharmacists have been helpful and we have gotten them to do insurance overrides for controlled meds for vacation with no issues. We have had issues with backordered ADHD meds, but they generally fill regular customers before new scripts. |
