I love Disney World

Herded like sheep into 30-60 minute lines to stare at characters for 30 seconds. Waiting in throngs to pay $6 for a cupcake and $60 for hotdogs and hamburgers at a mass-produced fast food joint with a 30 min wait. Waiting with Baited Breath until the stroke of midnight 6 months out so they can pay $250 for a princess dinner that is crappy food and doesn't even include a glass of wine.

We've done it. We've stayed in a three bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower with full butler and view of fireworks. We hav also stayed offsite at a budget motel and shuttled in with the masses.

Doesn't matter. It's mass mentality and brainwashing - secret mickeys, grumpy crowds, greedy crying kids everywhere, $20 balloons.

These Disney sheep must also be on the Trump bandwagon. Lol!

We actually consider Disney a relatively cheap vacation. $60 for lunch is far cheaper than what we are going to be spending for lunch at the Ritz in the Cayman Islands next month. I find Disney prices to be quite reasonably actually. Tonga toast is delicious at the Polynesian. It really is not a big deal to buy a Mickey pretzel or ice cream bar. Have never bought a balloon and we don't buy many souvenirs.

I love Disney World too! We have taken the kids three times. It just feels like an escape from reality. Instead of a stressed out mom I feel like a kid and have fun right along with my kids! Love it!

I've been a couple times. Meh. Wouldn't go back.

We liked it okay. We went at a non-busy, but super hot time. Longest we waited for a ride was 35 minutes. We said we could wait 5-10 years to go back. The one thing that really shocked us was how many morbidly obese people there were.

I have never noticed these obese people at Disney. Maybe I'm too busy watching my kids and trying to get to the next attraction. Everyone seems pretty normal to me. I'm 5'4" and 120 pounds. I am very much into fitness.

I do remember seeing some elderly in scooters. Yes, they were larger but it is hardly fair to criticize handicapped people's weight.

Are you sure they were elderly? Might be like those Walmart shoppers zipping around on their scooter with their kids hanging on.

+1. This pretty much sums it up. We go bc the kids like it, but it's definitely and obviously a mass marketing money-driven brainwashing machine. Disney does this perfectly and both overtly and covertly. Definitely a mass-mentality and not for free thinkers or those on a budget.

The last time we were at Disney we saw so many adults there. Without kids. Some wearing creepy costumes. Overheard them referring to themselves as "Disnerds." It was very odd.

I hate people like this. I've only been to Disney once in my life so I'm hardly a die-hard, but it's fun and kids love it. It's fine if it's not your thing (I happen to dislike most Disney movies myself), but insulting and laughing at the millions of people who like it is just plain mean and spiteful. That superiority complex must be heavy.

Laughing and putting down people who like Disney even though you've gone multiple times. Nice.

+1.

I'm a Disney lover (though not a "Disnerd") and a Bernie supporter. My family has gone to Disney World every year since I was 5. It's a place full of nostalgia and magic for me. We took then-3 to DS for the first time last year as a whole-family trip, with me, DS, DH, my parents, and my brother, and had an awesome trip. It helped that we did our research, let reservations and Fastpasses guide where we were going when, and then went low-stress.

+1 Exactly. Seeing Disney through the eyes of a child is very special! Our kids and grandkids have absolutely loved it!

Your snide remark aside, it's great that many people are able to enjoy a fun vacation with others who also take pleasure in seeing the joy on their children's faces. Whatever your preference, hope you have a great time there as well! Life is to enjoy!

Ignore the laughter and be glad that most of us don't go through life putting down others. Our family loved going there, too!

I feel sorry for you. You know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
