What is it about the Pioneer Woman that annoys me so much?

Oh yeah the style is bad. I guess it's very down to earth and relatable she doesn't use one but it really goes to show why most celebs do. The eyeliner, too long hair, tunics and cowboy boots are not looking so good.

I like her but am struck by how awkward her voice-overs sometimes sound on tv and how forced she sounds in commercials and appearances. But then again, she isn't a professional broadcaster and hasn't been at the tv thing long. I think that will change over time, if you look at early shows with Giada, for example, she seems way more forced.

Who in DC is natural? Not the Bethesda mom?

OMG. Will you please stop saying “ABSOLUTELY”

You sound like a broken record. Also “divine” “decadent” etc...

I feel like putting my foot through my tv.

I miss the days when I felt like I learned something from watching cooking shows. Give me Ina or Bobby Flay or Tom Colicchio or pretty much ANYONE any day over her.

Because she was likely a tacky / trashy sloozy sorority girl at USC and tried to "make it" in LA ... then sunk her claws into some gullible rich rube from back home? I think she's a phony gold digger.

God only knows how many people find you annoying.

So she is extremely wealthy and puts on the persona of a down home country gal which is why a lot of folks don’t care for her. I didn’t know she had a show but the comfort food items I’ve made from her blog recipes have been a big hit with my husband.

I don't really endorse bumping three year old posts to bash people pp but I am also strangely irritated by the pioneer woman and always have been. I occasionally ended up at her blog prior to her tv days and always thought she came off kind of insufferable. I think its the label 'pioneer' woman and they way she puts on this super rural vibe while clearly working in a state of the art kitchen. I dunno, I think its the whole package I have never been able to put my finger on it.

I hate the way she says "Mercantile" about her store she opened.

She's slowly turning herself into a Monopoly in that town, though! Buying up and remodeling everything. Plus, she knows her niche market of older women. My mom (68) and aunts (63-72) love her so much that they did a vacation to freakin' Oklahoma to visit her Mer-can-teal, her B&B, and did a tour of her Lodge house.

At this point I'm just surprised he can move a muscle on his face.

For those who say that Ree is putting up a front, she very obviously does things in a "lodge" that puts many homes to shame. It's the midwestern version of an ocean front mansion. Yes, her husband's family are huge landowners and ranchers. Why can't one be downhome-y and wealthy? It may not appeal to the elites on the coasts, but it does sell. And many of the recipes are delicious, if not organic, etc. I say this as a well-heeled liberal food snob who grew up on a midwestern farm. Geezus, people can be multifaceted. It's just a darn tv show.

I tried her turkey brine recipe one year. Didn't love it. Her recipes are too fatty.

I like her, but can't eat any of her recipes. Am already overweight eating steamed and chicken, so can't eat all that fat.
