Nope. She was raised in Baltimore with working class parents. Yes, she did marry a man who acquired his wealth through television.

I never really thought about Jada one way or another but heard a Howard Stern interview with her not that long ago (not sure if it was a replay/repeat) where she talked about her upbringing and her friendship with Tupac. Very interesting.

Her friendship with Tupac is the only thing that's made her interesting and relevant...that, and being married to Will Smith. And had Tupac lived, I doubt they'd still be friends.

How do they pretend to be street? Also when you hear Oscar speeches like Patricia Arquette's about wage inequality that are clearly intended to advocate for white women I can't blame Jada if she feels disconnected.

Or you could interpret it as her saying women have historically fought for the civil rights of others and its time for everyone to fight for women's civil rights. Because that isn't a translation you've posted, its an interpretation. An overly sensitive one.

Not at all. It's time for all of the people of color that we've fought for to fight for us now clearly excludes people of color in her definition of "us".

I also don't know when Jada pretends to be "street". Are you confusing the characters that she's portrayed on tv as her true persona? It's called acting...

I actually think pounds supports the likelihood of STAYING married. Her growing old, comfy, and you know - being normal.

I also think when actresses first start out (as in the earlier pictures) there is a lot of pressure to be super thin.

Example: Kerri Washington was much more attractive before she went to Prime Time, and has become noticeably thinner. I chalk that up to pressure from different producers with a different audience. (Prime time vs. primarily AA)
