| And this is what scares me about him and the Republicans in general, that they don't understand the idiocy of this kind of statement. This guy is a dangerous no-nothing when it comes to foreign policy, but he has a very good chance of being their nominee. Remember, this is the guy who said he could stand up to ISIS because he busted unions in Wisconsin. |
Ugh https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/07/16/retired-general-drones-create-terrorists-kill-iraq-war-helped-create-isis/ |
Or, he could do nothing like Obama has done. And, how has that gone? We can just sit back and take the beheadings and the murdering of our service members. We’ll just let ISIS grow stronger. I can’t wait until we get a president who understands the threat, is not afraid to name the threat, and will take action to eliminate the threat. |
Yes! Scott Walker will take down ISIS, just like he took down those teachers and janitors and other evil people in Wisconsin. I don't blame you for feeling so confident. Republicans are always super effective at combating terrorism. I mean, just look at how George W. Bush tracked down and killed Osama bin Laden! |
Ya know, not all action is an improvement over inaction. |
Every generation has some paranoid people who believe that America faces the greatest threat ever. But in general we are safer than ever. |
So true. |
And, every generation has people in denial. |
Yes, I am well aware that you would say that. Maybe you would also call me naive. But I know our history. |
Have you seen the amount of US military equipment they are coming in to with each takeover of an Iraqi city? ISIS is going to be a greater threat than AQ and AQ came to be the power that they were because nobody did anything early. |
As someone who grew up under the threat of nuclear holocaust...there is no way I feel safer than ever. |
|
What can ISIS do other than launch a truck bomb or two, send over a Beltway Sniper or two, or God forbid, launch a 9-11 attach every few years?
In 1985 ... yeah, a war with Soviet Russia would've been a significant crimp in our way of life. Not so much ISIS. |
I am from Wisconsin and simply looking at the maps doesn't give you the whole story. To put it simply, in all three of the elections (2010 gubernatorial, 2012 recall, 2014 gubernatorial) the Democrats' campaign (Tom Barrett in 2010 and 2012 and Mary Burke in 2014) was just so poor that it's not at all surprising that SW won. There was a real disconnect between the historically progressive/blue politics of the state and what the elections here tell you, and had the Democrats ran dynamic candidates, I am sure that the results would have been different. Wisconsin will go blue in the next presidential election. |
| Now Walker wants to scrap the WI state elections board, which conducted an inquiry into his coordination with outside groups. He's relentless. |
